Services
In my private practice, I provide a safe, confidential, non-judgmental space for patients to explore any difficult thoughts or emotions and challenge any unhelpful behaviours.
I will resume delivering face to face sessions. This will be posted on this website.
Click on the images below to learn more about my services.
Individual therapy
The first session will be an assessment in which we can aim to identify the challenges you are facing at the moment and get a detailed idea of the difficulties which need to be addressed. In this way, we will be able to obtain a better understanding of what is causing these difficulties and subsequently the changes you can make in order to break unhelpful vicious cycles. Following the initial assessment, we will evaluate which factors might be contributing to and interacting with your difficulties. At this point, we can discuss a course of therapy which may best help you to experiment positive changes that can lead to improving your current situation.
In the sessions that follow, we can work towards the therapeutic goals and check on how you are coping. In each session, we can work out together the next step to take based on your preferences and priorities.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and, at the end of each session, we can establish suitable home practice in order to promote steps towards your recovery.
Cost and cancellations
The cost is £130 per 50-minute online session and £150 per session face to face (payment is required in advance of sessions). This cost covers our session time, note-keeping, reflective practice, and supervision. I can also accept payment through Aviva, Axa, Vitality Health, Bupa, Cigna and WPA insurance*. Depending on your provider I may ask you to pay for sessions directly and reclaim the cost.
Sessions are paid in advance, and I kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Non-attended and sessions cancelled with less than 24hours are charged at the full rate. Terms and conditions including details of confidentiality and data protection can be provided from our first point of contact.
* If you are insured with a provider not named here, please contact me as I can enquire with them. Costs may differ based on your insurer.
Group therapy
Online Group Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for people with depression or anxiety in the context of Long-Term Condition (LTC).
All participants in the group will agree to confidentiality to what is discussed within the group. I will be the sole therapist for each session. The group will receive a set of questionnaires at the beginning of the program and again at the end to measure progress. Throughout the sessions, there will be smaller break out rooms to reflect on various topics which will be subsequently discussed further in the group to gather feedback. Each week, there will be particular home practice which each member of the group can experiment in order to enhance what was learnt during the session.
The support program covers:
- Understanding the emotional impact of living with a long-term condition
- Ways to challenge unhelpful thoughts
- Ways our thoughts, emotions and behaviours impact the way we cope with a long-term condition
- Mindfulness exercises
- Methods of introducing self-care, relaxation and stress management
It will include:
- 8 x 1.5-hour sessions in a group of people with similar experiences of anxiety and depression in the context of LTC
- A self-management CBT manual for anxiety and depression in the context of LTC
- Worksheets for home practice
- Discounted option for 30-minute one-to-one follow-ups
Who is eligible?
People who have been diagnosed with depression and/or anxiety in the context of LTC, either by a healthcare professional or myself during our initial assessment, may be eligible to participate in group therapy. The group therapy will not be suitable for people who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Those intending to participate will receive relevant questionnaires to be completed in order to determine their eligibility for group therapy. On the contrary, I will be able to provide further information on alternative therapy that may be appropriate for those not eligible.
